"Although football and baseball took up all of my time, I had a growing interest in the martial arts. Finally at the age of 12 I was given my shot to train, and I haven’t looked back since. I received my Sho-Dan Black Belt at the age of 17. I took a break from teaching and training to attend college.
When I came home from college, I began instructing again at my old dojo. Then, through someone I know, I was introduced to the RSKA organization. From that point on my dreams started to become reality. Today I am still attending college pursuing my BS in psychology and still training hard. It is an honor for me to be a part of the best dojo in the country and to train with the best martial artists I have ever known. Thank you Kyoshi Frank".

Sensei Zach
Martial arts always peaked my interest. From martial arts epics like "Enter the Dragon", and "Bloodsport", to local demonstrations, I was always fascinated by martial arts. As a kid I never had the opportunity to engage in martial arts due to the lack of dojos where I grew up. Regular sports didn't get my attention like martial arts did. There was something amazing and different with the arts, it wasn't just a game like the other sports, but a way of life. When I moved to the outskirts of my town I began to find more available locations to train, however most of these dojos didn't offer the kind of training I desired.
So I tried place after place until for a while I had taken a break from martial arts and found myself missing something; at this point I had heard about Rising Sun Karate Academy. I met Master Frank and was given a demo CD which changed things drastically. I went home, watched it, and was amazed; this was the real deal! A fire was rekindled within me and I began training at RSKA day after day. Eventually I was given the opportunity to share my knowledge with other students by becoming an instructor, and now the rest is history!
Sensei Aron
Sensei Aron 1st Degree Black Belt was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and has always had a passion for Karate. He started when he was 5 years old at a Shotokan school Glencoe, Illinois. It was actually a tournament school, and was part of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union). He would travel all around the country, competing in various tournaments. He did tournaments until he was about 13, and around that age he found the other passion in his life, filmmaking.
After participating in anything film related throughout high school, he was accepted into one of the top film schools in the United States, the California Institute of the Arts, is where he currently is still a student, studying hard for his bachelor degree in the Arts. If it wasn’t for college, he might have never have moved out to California, and he would have never have seen Rising Sun Karate down the road. He was very grateful to have gotten into such a great college, but even more appreciated to have it be located near one of the finest Martial Arts schools he has have ever seen. He has been with Rising Sun for about three years now, and since he had prior experience in the martial arts, he started out as a 3rd Kyu Brown Belt. Always having a positive attitude and helping out he moved up to trainee, and soon after joined the Rising Sun staff to become an instructor. Sensei Aron received his Black Belt on April 14, 2006, and it was on that day that not only did he display a great amount of courage, strength, and perseverance, but most of all, he showed his loyalty to Rising Sun. In the future, he wishes to hold a respectable job in the film industry, and also to be part of the Rising Sun family forever.
